The Heybridge Neighbourhood Plan Task and Finish Working Group was formally appointed by the Parish Council to oversee the development of the Plan.
9 OCTOBER 2015
There will be a public consultation on the proposed Neighbourhood Plan Boundary from 12 OCTOBER 2015 to 26 NOVEMBER 2015. Details of the consultation can be found on the Maldon District Council website from the 12th October 2015.
5 November 2015
The Parish Council is currently holding a pilot study questionnaire which has been delivered to 30 residents. The aim of the pilot study is to ensure that the questionnaire is easy to understand and also to complete. It is hoped that the main questionnaire will be distributed to all residents within the Parish by the end of December 2015.
3 December 2015
The public consultation on the proposed Neighbourhood Plan Boundary has closed. Essex County Council has suggested that the boundary should include all of the proposed development area. There had been one objection to the boundary. The Working Group will be meeting with the District Council planning officers to discuss a way forward. It may well be that a second Neighbourhood Plan Boundary Consultation will need to be held early 2016.
The working group are currently analysing the responses received from the pilot study. It is hoped that the questionnaires will be ready for distribution to all residents/businesses within the Parish early 2016.
17 December 2015
The Parish Council agreed to the proposal put forward by Maldon District Council to amend the Neighbourhood Plan Boundary. The amended boundary will not include the North Heybridge Garden Suburb development area. The District Council committee will be voting on the amended boundary in January 2016.

8 February 2016
The Working Group will be meeting fortnightly beginning 23rd February 2016 throughout the planning process. The Working Group will be looking at various items. Anyone who would like to join the working group meetings, please contact the Clerk.
16 March 2016
The working group held a meeting on the 23rd February and discussed the next steps to move forward. They are currently in the process of finalising the questionnaire which will be distributed to all homes and businesses within the Parish. Due to holidays and Easter, the working group had to postpone their next meeting until the 12th April 2016. The agenda for this meeting will include agreeing the final questionnaire so that it can be distributed shortly thereafter.
14 April 2016
The working group held a very successful meeting on the 12th April 2016 and agreed the questionnaire which will be posted all residents next week. The working group will be starting to look at various marine policies, sustainable energy (solar) policy, and developing a timescale. The next meeting will be held on 26th April 2016.
16 May 2016
There has been a good response to the questionnaires. More than 25% have been received. The working group will be arranging a meeting following the Annual Parish Council meeting.
4 August 2016
The Council hired an Intern over the summer break to carry out data input from the questionnaires. The next meeting of the working group will be held on 9th August 2016. On the agenda will be discussing the next stage of analysing the data. The working group are planning on meeting fortnightly.

24 August 2016
The working group have been meeting weekly on Tuesdays at 7:30pm in the Claydon Room. The data input from the questionnaires has been completed. A public workshop has been scheduled for Sunday 23rd October 2016 between 10am and 4pm.
10 November 2016
The public workshop held on 23rd October 2016 was attended by 34 members of the public. The results from the questionnaire had been displayed. The next meeting of the working group will be held on Tuesday 15th November 2016.
13 December 2016
The working group have been drafting the vision statement for the Parish. They have separated the Parish into different sections based on geography and settlements. The next meeting of the working group will be held in January 2017 and will focus on the marine statement.
6 January 2017
The next working group meeting will be held on the 10th January 2017 at 7pm. The meeting will focus on the coastal/marine vision statement.
